Default Differences between 06 engine and 04 ?

I have an 06 and I know that it has 300hp compared to 287 for the 04 ? I was wondering what bumped up the rating ?

I searched but was not able to find an answer ?

My first engine mods will be : Plenum spacer, catback, test pipes, pulley's.

What do you think ?

Thanks everyone, oh and the best mod of all, I am taking driving lessons on a race track this summer !!!

The main difference is Oil Consumption....

How long have you had your 06, how many miles were on it when you got it (if purchased used) and how many miles have you put on it? Before I did any mods, first thing I would do is check the oil and have a consumption test.

Variable exhaust cam timing + ECU is the only difference.... And a faulty set of secondary rings on some as an added bonus. Lol~

Not all. Bought mine brand new and absoutely no issues. It past the test and I always check the levels every other month. Unfortuatey there are a handful of 06' owners who have the oil consumption
