You can tell by looking at the intake and exhaust cams... on 03-04 there is no variable exhaust cam, only variable intake cam.

on the rev-up, the intake and exhaust cams are both variable.

But... the tricky thing is, Nissan has MANY DIFFERENT REVISIONS of ECU's. Even within a single model year, they might have a few different ECU's.

If I were you, I would contact technosquare. They can probably help you match an engine to an ECU, they have ECU flashes for every revision just about.

Do Haltechs come specifically designed for different revisions or is it just a case of updating/changing the firmware to suit do you know?

Dat's jus how Nissan rolls yo.

Here's what they look like:
Interesting - I have a 2005 350Z "Enthusiast" and I thought I had the non-revup engine. I'll have to pop the hood and take a look when I get home.

So all I need to look for is in those pics? (namely the two wire harness clips)

2005 35AE MT and Track models had the RevUp, other 2005 models had the 287HP engine.

I think the 05 aniversary and the track model were the only Rev-up models produced in 05, I have changed the cams in my 05 (and there is no exhaust timing module and I have a third petal in the floor board.

Sorry, I didn't read the post above
