Unhappy Help!!! Oil Pressure!

hey everyone, so i got test pipes put in yesterday, i did the non fouler trick, no cel! but anywayz i just left work, and noticed the oil pressure gauge is close to 0 and goes up to 30 psi when im driving, no matter how much gas i give it it dont go over, before the gauge read around 30 all the time and went up to like 90 when i gassed it. I know test pipes cause smoke but i am having a lot of smoke! Anyone think i am burning oil? anyone know why? i am waiting for the engine to cool to check it, but its pretty obvious cause of the oil pressure right!?

right. as the rpms rise, the oil pressure should also go up

if you only installed test pipes, i dont see how that would cause you to burn oil

hmmm...

well i know that new exhaust components can cause some smoke initially. and burnt oil usually has a bluish tint to it (white typically comes from coolant).

yea, something is definitely up. i still dont see how an exhaust component (test pipes) would cause any difference with the motor (oil burning).

Yeah. The test pipes have nothing to do with your oil issue. Did you check that the oil filter was installed properly? You appear to have a leak somewhere or the oil guys didn't add the correct amount of oil at the change.

You aren't going to lose oil because you installed test pipes. It coincidental.

gonna check the oil filter tomorrow...seems like i added a quart of oil after the engine was cooled, and my oil pressure seemed to be fine...still alot of smoke but again if the oil change was done almost 2 weeks ago, why smoke after the pipe install? im so bummed, some people i know are telling me it could be the head is screwed up now or the valves, or the head gasket, checked the antifreeze and thats fine, not gucky or anything so i dont thinkk thats getting into the motor.. im so confused

perhaps you need a new crush washer...oil pressure has nothing to do with your test pipes...smoke however, is probably because there's hardly any restriction through your exhaust system that's why is more visible. White smoke typically indicates steam from your engine's cooling system (or it's just really cold outside). Bluish grey is burnt oil. Coolant usually smells "sweet". Sniff it and you should be able to tell.

What was the oil level at? If you just installed test pipes it may be an ecu thing where if you reset it.. it trys to relearn.....

its hard to look for a smell because the test pipes them selves give off a smell from removing cats, you guys thing i should reset the ecu? thats just unhooking the battery then rehooking right? seemed the oil level actually was ok, you think when i got the oil change maybe they didnt put enough in or too much? or the wrong filter? ps its not cold outside and the coolant level is fine, i know theres smoke from removing cats but you guys should really see this, its alot of smoke, like people pulling up next to me like do you know your car is smoking ALOT? lol

Bro.. your prob gonna get raped for something you could have done yourself... Im betting it was simply that the ecu was trying to relearn your new mods... My Z would always do the same thing.. Id drive and cruise in N.. it would then cut off.. Or come to quick stop at a light and it would cut off.. It just takes a week or so to relearn and it would keep idle and not cut off "limp mode"...

All you had to do was check the oil while the engine was cold (no need to spend money on a new oil change).. If you reset the ecu it will still do the same cut off and relearn so it takes driving it to get better...

My motor was never cutting off or anything. The oil pressure gauge is what's making me nervous. I won't get raped I know the guys at the shop they'll take care of me. Plus man I work way to much to have time to mess with all this anymore.

I experienced my oil pressure drop to 0 and it would cut off....
