Default Sierra Coolant, safe for pets, children, and out MOTOR?

Hey anyone use Sierra anti-freeze in out vq motor? I want the non-harmful benefits of the sierra antifreeze but just want to make sure that I am not doing anything dumb. I'm sending an email to the sierra company but just making sure and getting some first hand accounts from you guys who have used this product in the past.

WTF, is that supposed to be english? also, never heard of the crap. the stuff is made to go into an engine and if properly disposed of, will not harm the environment or animals. some people are taking this whole environmentally safe crap to the extreme and in most cases are just trying to bank in on the new green movement. you are probably getting higher temps because the fluid is crap, not air.

I guess if you're the type of person who normally takes old antifreezes and dumps it in your sink or toilet afterwards, or who pours it down the sewer in your street, then this is a good idea. There is a proper way to dispose of coolant, just like there is tires, oil, batteries, and other potentially toxis things.

If it says its for use in automobile engines on the label, then I'd be inclined to think it is ok for the Z...there is nothing special nor innnovative about our coolant system

I'm going to take a wild guess here,

but I'm going to assume if the Sierra coolant stuff claims it's safe for people and pets, then most likely it is propylene glycol + water, most of the time coolant is ethylene glycol + water

ethylene glycol is much more toxic than propylene glycol.

you shouldn't drink either one, but ethylene glycol has a good chance of giving you serious kidney stones or worse effects

in terms of performance, I doubt you'd notice any difference, since chemically EG and PG are both pretty close

Whether you select propylene glycol or ethylene glychol is a personal matter.
Of more importance is the 3-5 chemical additives added to antifreeze to retard corrosion in aluminum engines.
