Default 3.357 Final Drive Gears

I have been doing some reaserch on the longer ratio final drive's for FI aplications and am confused. A while ago I read that your able to just swap out the gears and not the whole pumpkin. Recently I have been reading most people have been swaping the whole pumpkins.

What would be the best way to go? Whole Pumpkin or Ring and Pinion only?

I have also found the part # for the Ring and Pinion 38100-OC760

Any Info/help would be apreciated

Thanks MikeS

Edit: I think this should have been in Tech :/

You can't swap the ring without buying a new LSD at the same time. The 3.357 and 3.538 ring gears are different thicknesses and use different LSD's.

That's what I was starting to realize, the more I have been reaserching.

So basicly the best way to go would be get a whole pumpkin?

Or are there any nissan ring and pinions that will fit with the OEM Nissan LSD.

The car is an 04 350TT.

or get 3.3 and AT Quaife (I think it can only be had from UK though) and install both in your pumpkin... its a pricey option (especially shipping for UK), but an option nonetheless...

Also, I think KAAZ makes a diff that fits with 3.3 (I was considering theirs before Quaife... Its been a while since I researched so you'd have to check on that one...

Cusco makes an LSD for automatic equipped cars...we have them

that part # also is not correct for the 3.3 final drive

I just put 4.08s and nismo LSD in my 07 touring 5AT with 29k miles. I was planning on selling my 3.357s, differential, and axle flanges, if you wanted to go that route and put them in your pumkin. Let me know.

Check your PM

Where would the best place be to get a new set of gears?
I saw Z1auto but they only have the higher ratios?

Just to make sure.

The car is a 6 speed, to make the gears work I would need to swap in an automatic rear diff and I'm good to go?

Z1 is correct, and FWIW, that is whom I purchased my 4.08s from, so thumbs up!
