Default 06 350Z engine question

Hey! I have an 06 350Z with only 14k miles and when i pressurize the engine as I am shifting(sounds like the lifters or the values). I hear a chatter and it happens in most gears I have had it in the dealership now 5 times and they even rode with me and heard it but can not tell me what is wrong.
I never put cheap gas in the car...always Premium. So if you have any ideas let me know. I can't imagine this is just the way this engine sounds but open to what you have to say.

Gary

Default Step on it or upshit...

Once I come to a stop and I place it in first and give it gas and pressurize the engine the valves start to chatter like bad gas or low oil- and does it going into 2nd as well. It also does it when I step on the gas when I am in a gear...the same sound.

I know this is halfway a stupid question, but are you sure you haven't had any oil consumption issues which may have affected the valves at all?

Maybe I missed it but do you have a manual or automatic?

Default Did you say "Check The Oil?"

I am having a lot of oil consumption. I do not drive the car that much maybe 100miles per week, if that and I am noticing that i am having to keep an eye on the oil. It would appear to be burning oil more than any car I have ever had. I just chucked that up to my first sports car! But not a problem thanks for bring up a good point. I have really tried everything I know that I can do to stop the chattering! I did just find out there is a class action law suit with the 2006 Z's having to do with oil consumption. Not sure if this is all related to my noise or not? Who knows?

Default ***update****

Well, as you might imagined the oil was low on my z- i had just had the dealership change the oil not even 500 miles ago and it was 1.5 quarts low. I have now started an oil consumption evaluation through my servicing dealership. We'll see where it goes but the service manager notified me that Nissan has issued a flag on my particular 06 350Z (HO = High Output) manual transmission for excessive oil usage. Which I am gathering that the low oil is causing me to hear the VTC Sprocket. So here i go down this road now...uugghh! Crap! They are talking about wanting to change out my engine.

Welcome to the club lol. Ive been through 3 engines. Two different versions. Each newer version was worse then the last. Im currently lemoning my car now. =/, My recommendation, get rid of this car ASAP. It will just continue to burn through oil, my situation has never gotten better in the 1 year ive had this problem. Until now, which is a vehicle buy back =/
