Default ACT flywheel

Everything worked out. I just sent it back to ACT and got another one. seems the first one was machined bad

I run the Prolite fw and it pulls off fine. You probably just need to get used to it.

there's really nothing to get used to. as soon as I even start to let off the clutch the car wants to die. I think I'm just gonna go back to the stock flywheel. it's so much easier on the street and I didn't even notice a difference with the new flywheel what so ever

I think that is common with aftermarket flywheel and clutch. The flywheel weights less thus having less rotational inertia. Also the clutch grabs more now. So now when you let off the clutch, it grabs harder and also the flywheel doesn't have as much inertia to rotate the drivetrain, thus stalling the engine..

Perhaps try adjusting your clutch, so it does not engage as soon.

you installed a lighter flywheel than stock...as a byproduct, it takes more throttle to get the car moving, as you have less mass (intertia) than you did with the original flywheel. You also have to check to make sure the adjustable rod is set exactly per the specs JWT provides with their instructions. If you didn't notice the difference in how the car revs with a stock flywheel than the stock one then I am not sure what to tell you...the difference is dramatic, and immediately noticeable

I just got the JWT combo installed last month and I noticed this as well. I had some FWD cars in the past with lightened flywheels and though it wasnt as dramatic it did the same thing. It takes some getting used to but I think its normal. If you have it out of gear and you take your foot off the clutch and it just dies, then you definitely have a problem.

no the problem im having happens while im IN gear. as soon as i start to let off the clutch ever so slightly, the car wants to die.

as mentioned, that is exactly how its supposed to be - you will need to learn to give it approx, 200-300 more rpm when trying to get the car moving from a dead stop. Once the car is moving, it drives exactly the same as a stock flywheel
