back on topic Plenum spacer (not going to tell you what kind), K & N drop in filter for your 06 OEM airbox (cold air intakes don't do squat for our cars...and its been proven), test pipes or high flow cats, Motordyne MREV2, 4.083 Final Drive Gear (contact adam @ Z1 for that), and a good EMS such as UTEC, reflash, haltech, vpro, cobb, etc.

Those are your basic N/A "neccessities"

Your other choice is go FI...but be prepared to spend close to if not more then $10k

It was like 90 out when mine was tuned. The reason my numbers are low is I kept the stock exhaust as at the time I thought I would lose too much bottom end and wasn't sure which exhaust I liked and didn't want any rasp. Live and learn I guess. I will be upgrading that soon. So back on th OP's topic and sorry for somewhat hijacking this thread

whatever you decide, dont buy a name brand exhaust, unless you just want the flashy looks. decide what mufflers you want, and go to your local muffler shop and have them build it for you. and stay with 2.25" or 2.5", trust me. youll be much happier with the drivability. and you could save around $1000.00 doing it that way.

Don't listen to him! Save $6000 for the ARC or Amuse exhaust

call out of work and party like a rockstar for a couple days.j/k,if you want bling... buy bling,if you want performance realize it's not going to take you very far and make the same basic mods as everyone else.the choices are not plentifull so get more air in and more air out and call it a day.

06 rev-up intake is the best around with a k&n filter.

$2500
Honestly this wont get you far as per quality but it will get you started.

Tein Stech & Koni's if you are never going to race the car competitively will give you a great stance.

15mm spacers for stock 06 wheels look great.

Hit up the used market for your performance mods... chances are you wont stay with your original choice anyway.

Most Fun NA setup.
JWT Clutch & Flywheel
3.9 FD & Nismo LSD
Injen TD, & Resonated Testpipes
Plenum Spacer

Next step if I had to do over would be then just add spray.

I had all of those mods at one time and was the happiest ever with my Z.
I would have just sprayed and utec and been done.

Get an Evo 9. 320 hp at the wheels for $800 in mods, not including a baby bottle.

I agree with pony_killer in terms of power gain for NA. If I were you 2500, I would spend first thing on suspension first. Driving a Z is all about handling to me personally. Power wise should be more than enough for 3.5L 287HP, especially for daily drive. It's up to you what your purpose or concern.

I would rather improve my performance driving skill first then add more power if I think I need sometime in the future.

N20 is ok if you like a huge tq increase......but bottle filling isnt cheap or easy.
NA is a big let down, spend 2500 to get 20whp.
Fi isnt cheap in the begging or at any time for that matter.

+1, to sum it up....this car requires an *** load of money to make it faster...

Pop charger is a waste of money for the '06. Your stock air box is a better set-up. Go with the K&N drop-in.
