Exclamation Anyone ever changed spark plugs???

I have a pretty easy question. Im sure ill be fine, but i plan on putting in the Pulstar Pulse Plugs that i got in the Z and i just wanna ask if there is anything i should watch out for when changing them? I plan on doing it Saturday morning. I just want some advice/tips/how to's from the pros, lol. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I just pull each individual coil up and theres the spark plug right???

it's alot easier if you remove the top and bottom intake plenum, but you don't have to, and yes, when you pull the coil off the spark plug is right there. Your also going to need a long @ss extension, the plugs are about a good 6-8 inches down in the head.

I use two 6inch extensions.

Make sure no crap falls into the cylinder.

DO not overtighten the new plugs

Remember to put anti-seize on plug threads.

DO NOT change the plugs when the engine is HOT if possible...
you can strip-out the threads removing or installing the plugs.

This problem doesn't happen all the time, just beware that it CAN happen! This is why it is recommended to use anti-seize compound on the threads

And then the pattern on putting the plenum back on! If you don't know that already.

I say you dont put those plugs in... I think pulstar is a joke seriously.

If anything, I'd only use OEM plugs (which are platinums) or Iridiums (NGK, Denso, HKS, Greddy)... I have the NGK's and I love them, and actually I get really good highway mileage compared to the stocks..

wow that's more than the iridiums...

Yeah, I haven't heard anyone using them or atleast anyone posting on here... people have questioned it, but not commenting on their experience with them. So good luck with that..

This is a simple procedure. I have replaced quite a few plugs on the Z's. You do NOT have to remove the plenem!!!!!!!!! Take the intake tube off it will help to gain access to the rear plugs. Just take your time, remove each coil which is a 10mm bolt then the coil will slide out similar to spark plug wires. Use an extension and spark plug socket to remove the old plugs. Do ONE AT A TIME. Make sure to gap the new plugs prior to install. Just work your way around. It takes time, and the space is very tight but if you have some mechanical knowledge you can do it. Be careful when installing the new plugs and always start them by hand so you do not strip the socket holes. Good luck and make sure to have a few beers while doing the work

Dude, of course he is kidding! When I saw the thread title I thought the same thing, "No, no one in the history of 350Z ownership has ever replaced the spark plugs".
