Default Stock clutch problem

On my way to the Duluth meet (an hour drive)... I noticed a problem with my clutch as I arrived.

When I push in my clutch, it's fine. But when I let the clutch out (in gear), the pedal feels resistant to it letting out and it makes a squeaking sound like a dry, rubber bushing would make.

For the best example... wrap your forefinger around a small metal rod, and grip tightly so the rod can't turn easily. It feels like this is happening.

This did not happen in neutral or when the car is not in gear. It squeaks and is worse in the lower gears (1st and 2nd) and get's better with higher gears.

If I turn the car off and let it sit for 10-20 minutes, it gets better, but comes back within the first couple minutes of driving.

Car has 67700 miles on it and is an 03 Touring with stock clutch/flywheel.

Clutch fluid is fine.

Sounds like your throwout bearing is going. Possibly even a problem with the pressure plate. 67k+ miles is a good run for a stock clutch. I would take a look at your finances and get a replacement

Alright. The clutch HAS gotten softer and slipping under certain heavy acceleration. The engagement has moved further up and grabs within the last few inches of travel now.

How much longer do you think I have left on this guy?

Weird, but I got 138k miles on my stock clutch on the Z32 before I replaced it with an ACT clutch and JUN flywheel.

Better start shopping, Ben. Might as well go with a streetable kit and some good fluids.

Ahh... Damn... Looks like it's time to spend even more money.

Thanks a lot guys, I knew I'd find some answers.

So Aaron... Wanna change out my flywheel/clutch? I'll give you a Milky Way
