Default ACT clutch and Flywheel a downgrade?

Clutch: Heavy Duty Super Street nz1-HDSS
Flywheel: Streetlite SLKU 600215

Is what i bought. Dealership (Nissan Kendrick Lafayette IN) seems put out i opted not to spend 1600 on OEM. They are claiming that i am downgrading quality and build VS thier OEM, and that i bought the wrong fly since it is a solid...not floating or wtfe.

Opinions?

I dont know enough to have one.

The ACT clutch is certainly not a downgrade from the stock clutch, especially if you have a later year model. The early, stiff '03 OEM clutches are the only ones that ever seemed worth a damn to me.

As for the flywheel, thats personal preference. The OEM flywheel is a dual-mass design, which has its advantages. It is also heavy, and has its disadvantages.

Bottomline, I would tell the dealership to shut up and install your parts.

did you ask them their opinion of your parts or did they just offer it? Your typical dealer is going to do the typical dealer thing...and put the fear of god into you if decide to deviate from the factory Nissan parts catalog. That is part of their job.

In terms of them stating its a downgrade...absolutely not the case

I, quite frankly, stated i didnt care wtf they thought......install the parts.

This dealership has been problematic from day 1. Im still dealing with a wreck repair that my 7 yr old could have done. It took me talking to the owner directly just to get the 04-07 upgrade in the first place.

Not many are sold here so ANY issue seems to be a BFD.

I have had the prolite flywheel and the street clutch fromACT for almost 2 years now. I have had it with a Turbonetics ST kit and now on a Greddy twin kit. It is a great setup and has handled my 400 RWTQ great!

I also have an ACT 6-puck with Fidanza f/w and has taken some serious FI and drag racing abuse for over a year with no problems, never slips and very grippy I fried the weaksauce stocker within a month of having my Turbonetics kit on.

Z1...yes, they offered up. (fear of God etc etc)

GSXR.... and i as well! Between the last tranny swap, this swap, the 2 fouled insurance claim repairs, and this clutch issue? I might have to start going to Indy for my repairs.

Quad/diwun.... good to know! Thanks.
