Default W/ all these swaps, why not an '03/'04 Termy motor?

So it seems like swapping motors in the Z's is starting to become second nature now.

We can swap a few different motors now but I'd love to hear the possibilities of a Cobra (mind you it needs to be an '03/'04) due to the built bottom end. They've been proven to 5-600 on the stock block.

The one major problem I see is w/ the eaton (or heaton...love it or hate) S/C on top. That could be easily fixed w/ a turbo kit b/c by now everyone should know that Turbo'd or TT'd Termies are stupid quick.

Just doing some thinking. I know a few places where I could swing the front portion of some '03 Cobra's.

hmm, there has only been a couple that have been on this board. i would not constitute that as being "second nature". plus the money it would take to do these swaps can be used for the VQ and get pretty much the same results, just that the engine would fit. i am glad that this mod is very expensive, otherwise the Z will turn into another honda civic.

ford modular motors are just way too wide to mess with. LSX motors are nice and compact and fit in just about anything, and can make tons of power with heads cam swaps.

I'll just put forged internals in my block, get the cosworth heads at my cost and lower the compression and make a 600 whp daily driver. Sounds like a great idea to me!

DOHC ford motors are huge. about 31" wide.

just spend the dollars on a stroker kit, cosworth heads and a TT kit. take the money you save and build up the stock trans to handle all the new torque.

Hey look guys i can speak from experience my z has the 2jz and honestly a swapped car is not for everyone. I love my swap when anyone notices thats its a 2j they get pretty crazy and start asking question left and right and this n that. Its a pretty cool experience. On top of it i have maybe the only running one or the second running one known to exist in the world. Yea the car dose give me **** here and their but so far nothing major. The people that did my swap were shady and didnt do the quality job that i paid for but i guess we all at some time have made the mistake to take it to the wrong place and get shafted. Once i got my car back i had to change and fix some things here and their things that i should have not have to fix in the first place. Now my car is coming back together and i know that its going to be even better then when i picked it up. What i learned in all of this is that never let anyone do a swap in your car unless they put warranty behind the entire job and will back it up.

And this goes out to everyone hate it or love it. The VQ is a great engine but its not the only one. If you got the bred and want to be different go ahead swap whatever the F*** you want into it just know that it wont feel the same as the what came from factory.
