Default Problems Cold Starting Z!

Hey guys,

I did a search but came up with nothing. I need to know a few things:

1) Does anyone have a problem starting their car in the morning? (i.e. a lengthy turnover before the engine actually fires up or a sluggish start)

2) Did anyone take their car in for service?

3) Opinion: do you think better plugs will help it start? Keep in mind that I have had this problem almost since the car was new.

I need this help since I want to make the Nissan dealer the last alternative for several reasons. For one thing, I don't like their workmanship. I also don't have cats on my car and I don't want them reading me the riot act about warranties even though that does not have anything to do with starter issues. Any help, however small, is appreciated. Thanks.

Dan

I had problems starting the car on my first 350Z. The car just would turn and not get any fire. If I waited like ten minutes it would start just fine. I took it in and they couldn't find anything wrong and no ECU codes. The problem just finally went away.

In my situation I don't think it was the plugs I think it was the ECU.

Thanks for the input. If the ECU turns out to be the problem, that would be great since it's getting removed anyway. I know the starter is good. I know the engine is getting fuel because it starts up eventually and runs flawlessly. It must be the spark or the ECU I'm guessing.

Nissan says they need to use the scan machine but I know they won't find anything. We'll see I guess. Thanks.
