Default Technical Question about clutch

Hey all I have a 2004 350z and it's a manual. I broke my ankle 4 months ago playing ice hockey and haven't been walking or driving since then since I haven't been able to put any pressure at all on my left ankle. My doctor today told me that I can start putting 60 pounds of pressure on my leg with the assistance of crutches. I asked him if I can drive my manual car with a clutch and he said all cars are different so as long as it doesn't require 60 pounds of pressure or more to depress it. I was wondering if anyone knew how many pounds of pressure it would take to depress a clutch in a 2004 Z. Thanks a lot i'd love to be able to start driving my babe again.

No idea. It sure doesn't feel like 60 pounds. My wild *** guess is 30 - 40 pounds of force to push it? What you could do is get a bathroom scale and a 2by4 about 2 feet long. Put the 2by4 on the pedal, hold the scale with the dial facing you and push it down on the 2x4. Then just read the dial. Not very scientific, but it would produce reasonably accurate results. You'd have to push it straight and hold it all together or you might get a 2by4 in the face!

hahaha yea! stop being a *****!

lol no jk, take your time until it feels better or else you might end up with permanent damage. i broke my wrist while hitting the bench and i was an idiot and started lifting again after about a month and now i have irreparable damage to my wrist and it is no longer able to support any significant load. take good care of joints. well it is but it hurts a f*ck load.

i would imagine (and this is just a wild guess) that it would be about 60 pounds of pressure to operate the clutch on a 2004. that along with the repeated motion might cause damage to your ankle, i would be careful. the newer Z's have softer clutch pedals that require less pressure, so maybe its time to upgrade .
