New cyclinder heads and camshafts
So im gotta problem I need some new cycilnder heads casue mine are toast and all bearings gone who knows where i can get a new ones. What are some good upgraded camsafts for a 03 z that are ok to use for a street car
junkyard for the heads. is it just the bearings that are gone though? if so, why not get them replaced? youre building FI right? if so youre gonna want a good FI cam, check the FI build section i guess. obviously, good FI cam =\ good NA cam
There are several camshaft options that are available that are rather streetable. Of course everyones definition of streetable is different so it really depends on what your goals are for your car from a powerband and horsepower perspective for anyone to give you a proper suggestion of what camshaft that you should be using. You are lucky in the fact that you have an 03 so your selection of cams will be the greatest out of any other model year. If you are looking to do some research on your own which I suggest look into whats available from Brian Crower(BC), Tomei, Nismo, HKS, Jim Wolf and GTM. (The last two companies I don't have any personal experience with but there is more than enough information available on them on this board). I am also sure there are other that I am leaving out.
As far as heads, you also have a few options. Besides just slapping on a another set of OEM heads, Cosworth makes modified VQ35 heads (http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model...ne&prodid=2444) in addition to some of the offerings available through some other vendors on this board which are done in house.

what are your build plans? cam choice is seriously affected by how crazy your build is gonna be and the output plans.
like kwame said, you have choices other than OEM heads. you might have to sell the entire street you live on to get the cosworth heads, but there are others that are more affordable

To the point where you need to replace cams, put some serious thought into this, because you may as well upgrade to forged internal components while your at it. Almost 50% of the motor disassembly is necessary to upgrade cams anyway...Thats why its so damn expensive to have cams installed.
Think hard grasshopper!!!
Good luck.

We have plenty of OEM stock head cores here, if you need a starting point. We can also completely rework and assembly heads for you.
For camshafts, we really need to know more about your goals before suggesting a cam. What EMS are you planning on using?
