Default What the christ is the deal with Intense Motorsports?

Listen to this:

So I go to buy some Samco hoses from them, becuase I read their FAQ and I assume they are a reputable business. If anyone doesn't know, the Samco hose kit for the Z is a few pounds at most and 4 different hoses. So I went to the shipping page, typed in my address (in Jersey), and got a quote of $34.25 to get it shipped!!!! That's 20% of the actual price of the hoses. The service quoted was for UPS ground shipping pretty much cross country. So I went to UPS and found that it would cost about $9, but I could not get an exact estimate because I only guessed on dimensions.

So I went to Options Auto Salon and priced a few items that are around the same size and weight... $9.09!! Just a slight discrepancy there.

So I figure before I post my findings I'll contact them to see if it was a mistake. First email... no response to date. Second email... bounced back to me. Anyone know what the deal is with them? They seem to have a good website and solid product base.

eh, i've dealt with online shops like that (particularly in NY, and not necessarily car related). they lure you in with low prices and try to make back the money through high shipping costs.

i've never dealt with im racing, so i dont know about their prices/policies

I know that vividracing.com has this hose kit. I thought that they were really good on prices. I have bought stuff from them in the past. I think the kit was like 160. not sure about shipping.

Intense Motorsports?.......why yes, they suck major bunghole.......i tried to get an RS-R exhaust from them, which they told me they had in their warehouse.........that was a complete lie.........after about a month and a half, i asked for my credit card order to be refunded........they tried to give me the "restocking fee" line........eventually, they agreed to refund my card the whole amount.......on the phone, that is........the actual refund never happened...........i had to dispute the charges with my credit card company........that process is still ongoing, since it takes 90 days.

INTENSE MOTORSPORTS SUCKS!!!!!!!!

I "Was" going to order from then...then I went to the Better Business Bueru to check on them. Since I live over Sea, I can't really afford to get the run around.

Guess what I found, BBB have an "Unsatisifiy" rating on them due to unanswered complain...so I say "See Ya", and order from someone else.

It seems like they just put what ever is made for any car on their website, and they will order it (which will take half a year) to get it to you...

I never deal with them...but that rating from BBB is enough to scare me away.

I invite certain companies to be a site sponsor. I never considered them.

There is this other company that could bring in big bucks but I don't like them. So I never invited them either. They steal people's money.

Wow, I had no idea some many people had problems with them. I'm glad I decided to post and get the word out.

I got the hoses since my incident, but its just troubling that we have to deal with this stuff. I'm going to contact the BBB and notify them of my experience. Take care guys.

Dan,

BBB already knows.

But 1 more complain can't hurt, that way at least BBB know that they are still in business.

Who the hell knows if they are still in business =) I can't get in touch with them.

I'll still contact BBB just out of principle and see if they can actually DO anything.

Funny you should bring up the excessive S&H fee. I went to theri website to purchase a oil cap, put all the info in and it says the S&H is like $15.00 ......LMAO..... Yeah right!!! Hey, I was born at night, not last night!!!
