Lets say you stumble upon a Rear diff. out of a Z...is there a way by looking at it to know if its an OEM LSD or not? You know it came out of a 6spd car, but nothing else other than that...are there any tell-tale signs of LSD'ness?

I guess if you had a few spare hands you could turn the Driveshaft end and then see if both spin, then grab one of the axle ends and see what that does...if the other axle end keeps spinning? would need 3 ppl likely...

Not to be a noob, but I did search for a cpl pages, and gave up.

dont spin the driveshaft part. spin one wheel and see if the other turns in the same direction.
