Default JWT Clutch and Flywheel???

Recently I purchased a JWT clutch and flywheel combo to put in my 04 z. Well the other night I had it installed and the on down the road it started to make a horrible sound between 500 and 2500 RPMS. Well when I would stop and the car is at idle there is a vibrating noise/rattling noise coming from the drivetrain area. The guy who installed the clutch said that the pressure plate is defective because when i press in the clutch the rattling noise goes away. Now my question to all the people on here is, is it possible that i recieved a defective pressure plate from JWT????

I think thats normal. sounds like a grinder? It happens on all lightened flywheels.

What you're describing is PERFECTLY NORMAL - I've had the JWT combo for 3 years & it does exactly the same thing. It's the light weight flywheel you're hearing. The level of noise varies from Z to Z - do a search & you'll see what I'm talking about. At this point, I don't even notice the noise unless I concentrate on it. You'll notice it a low idle w/clutch pedal out, low RPM acceleration (bogging the engine). Nothing defective there.....

I also have this combo, and does the exact same thing. The whole thing about depressing the clutch and getting quieter is also true. Its just all about if the performance is worth the noise.

same here. Chatter is really noticeable in between cars at a stop light or at a drive-thru if i have the clutch pedal release. Its normal like everyone said because of the aftermarket and lightweight flywheel.

I appreciate all the comments guys I just wanted to make sure i knew that with the lighten flywheel there would be some noise but not as much as it is making. And with the breaking in process i am finding out that the noise is not as loud as it was first when it was installed... thanks for all the help
