Im curious to know what exactly happened, however, with no warranty, I doubt he'll put the time/money into a tear down to figure it out, unless he rebuilds the current motor rather than swapping.

Thanks buddy, good find. How do I trust the guy with $1k though? What if he never ships the engine or what if it doesn't work?

It's a chance you take when dealing online, I've sent 5K+ to a member on here for their turbo kit. Unfortunately in your case this guy is new and doesn't have an itrader rating yet.

Pay with a means that you can re-call if needed.

Are you reading or just talking?

no, you need to have them tell you what the hell the problem is. Have them drop the oil pan and check for shavings, run a compression test, leakdown... etc... Don't just take their word for it.

I have a perfectly good long block for sale $1800. It has 30K miles on it. I did an APS TT kit and built a new engine to handle the boost. Let me know if you're interested.

I agree run all applicable tests before taking a shops word for it, I have experience personally with this.

Also, the labor book calls for 20 hours to replace a motor, so 1400-2000 should be what it costs.
