Default My VLSD is dead..what now?

so i kinda saw this coming...at first the diff was perfect...i could slide around in 2nd all day, then i started noticing after the diff got hot it would peg leg if i dumped it in 2nd from a stop. I figured the dif was just over heating and getting old...ive had VLSDs in my S13 before, no biggie. Then i started worrying when powering over, the diff started peg legging. Now the diff wont work at all, if i jump on the power early thru a turn itll just light up the inside tire. Also from a stop it just spins one tire
I just had the car aligned and also changed the diff fluid to synthetic from the dealership about 5k ago everything was perfect but now im convinced that my diff is dead. what do i do now? Will the dealership cover this under warranty, if so how do i go about telling them about my problem? I dont even think i want another VLSD has anyone heard about the dealer replacing with a nismo diff + the difference in cash?

any input would be great, ill try posting this in the motorsports section also.
Thanks-Jason

Dealers don't cover anything, they change whatever Nissan instructs them and pays to replace.

Important to remember dealerships [service department] are just independent shops with a direct reimbursement contract with Nissan. They have 2 sources of income YOU and Nissan.

On many Esoteric items up to you to deal with Nissan because there are no published specifications for VLSD other than it should be quiet and not make excessive noise.

Common for VLSD to wear out from excessive stress which can be caused by driving styles FORBIDDEN in warranty. Careful don't admit to anything.

+1 i would be very careful with what you say. i would assume that the part is covered under the initial warranty as well as the powertrain, and this would imply that if the part is not functioning correctly, they need to fix it. this is obviously your own fault though, and chances are that they will not cover this because of the fact that its obviously due to abuse. stop doing this...

VLSD's usually last about 60k miles. Abuse and hard driving will resuilt in quicker wear. Once the viscous fluid is pooped out, it's done. Has to be replaced or go for an aftermarket LSD.

Wether it can be warrantied by the dealer, I have no idea, I'm not sure if it is considered to be a "wear" item like a clutch or brake pads
