this wasn't the world's first RB26 powered Z33. these are pics of one that entered this year's 81st Pikes Peak race.

wish i knew somewhere i could go to do that swap for me. I live on Long Island near NYC. i know all the shops around me, a few friends of mine own them. doing that kind of swap, i need to know that it will be done perfectly. i would do it myself if i could.

Anyone know anyone good in this area. NY, NJ Conn area they would trust totally?

Power350Z,

I don't know when the Pikes Peak car was completed, but those pictures of the Batlground Z are from at least a month or two before the Pikes Peak car showed up in the states for the competition. The Batlground Z was the first one that was ever posted on this board for sure. I don't know when they actually had it up and running though.

Did the Pikes Peak car ever get the heat issues worked out?

From what I have seen on Skyline websites our VQ are substantial weight less than the Skylines RB engine. THe VQ like weights at least 300lbs. The RB is like 750lbs.

For that kind of power, I'd make the trade-off in a heartbeat

I'm not sure if they did. But going RB26 swap sure is tiresome. I believe this team also had to change the tranny and diff. All for the engine.

You can achieve pretty good gains just by going TT. (coming soon)

nonmature,

The car being discussed at the top in the hybrid forums is a 2wd setup.

The Pikes Peak car was reported as being 4wd.

Do a search, there are full threads about both.

Arthur,

I agree about the Turbo kit. I do kinda like the idea of the RB driveline in the Z, Z styling with GT-R power and 4wd

The ZELES car at Pikes Peak did okay... I think the driver could have done a better job.

An RB powered Z33 sounds very neat indeed! But at the same time, you can easily achieve ~400bhp with the PWR TT kit.
