I recently experience third gear grinding when the car is cold. I took the car in to nissan and they said i had some internal failure of trans assy. They are ordering a new trans and will be replacing my trans soon. anyone else has this problem?

 

I have also heard about the poor quality of the 350Z 6-speed manual. I drove a customers car that had 15K on it and the third gear synchros were fried, it would not shift into 3rd without making terrible grinding noises. I drove another one that was making bad sounds when cruising in 2nd and third. My friend (major nissan enthusiest) also heard about the less-than optimal trannys on the VQ.
