Angry Unorthodox Racing Pulllys Question!!!

So i recently installed these pulleys on my z and now every time on a cold start my belts scream like a cat dying. I tighten the belts again and it still seems to do it. Only on cold start for about 30 sec.

get the belts tightened, if you don't have experience or a gauge to measure the tightness, get a shop to do it. It should be a good and easy 30 mins job.

I have my pulleys for over 2 years, and I have no cat dying in my engine bay.

If all else fails, spray some belt dressing on the belt with the engine running. That used to work on my eclipse and keep the squeal away for a while.

not recommended at all

your belts might feel tight, but they aren't - get a factory service manual, it's got the specs for belt deflection (how much you can push down on them to know they are tight)

Scott

So what belts are you using? I would start with making sure the pulley's are tight, and straight...Make sure that the belt is not too tight, or too loose. Sometimes the belts stretch, or just do not sit right in the pulley, in this case I would go with alittle better belt. The only other option is to put some synthetic grease on the bottom side of the belt, this is only going to stop the noise for a short time. If you can't get it fixed run it by my shop and we can take a look at it.

Mine howled like a panther passing a kidney stone at first, but a little tightening and it's all good.
