Default Finally got my car on the dyno...

Well I finally got a chance to get my car on the dyno, numbers seem a little low to me. I had my 03 6mt non revup for a couple years now and dont have much for mods, just a K&N FIPK intake, Berk TPs and Cobb AP with a stg 2 map. Numbers ended up being a dead even 233 corrected split on a 4th gear pull, 3rd gear came about 2 hp lower with equal torque. Uncorrected was right around 250. What do you guys think?

Find a different dyno so you have more horsepower.

Thanks for the support... maybe I'll throw on a few stickers and then go for 800whp too . I'm pretty happy with the 250 uncorrected, but if stocks are putting down the 230 to 240 numbers that get posted and thats corrected hp, I would assume my car isn't running to full potential. Just because I don't have 26k posts like you doesn't mean I haven't been a member for a while or that I haven't done any research around the forum.

Those numbers seem spot on. My friend has 03 with only Nismo exhaust and his numbers were 248whp on dynojet.

You cannot compare numbers from someone else at another dyno even if it was same model dyno. The owners calibrate it according to their likes and just about everyone is different. What type of dyno was this? What was your a/f like? Consider that most people do not post SAE numbers, they post STD numbers because they are higher in most situations. Try getting some runs in at the track and see if you are trapping along the lines of other Zs with similar mods.

It was a dynojet 248, temp was about 65 with 25% humidity I think. I believe my AF was around 13.25 - 13.5 for most of wot, I'll post up the graphs on Monday when I have a scanner. Thanks for the feedback so far, good to know my car isn't running like s***!

Your dyno could have read 300whp and it wouldn't get any credibility. Not trying to bash you or anything, but someone else posted an HR dyno of over 300whp and went to the track and it ended up being just as fast, if not slower, than a stock HR..

Here is the graph, I was way off on the humidity, thats what its like here in the summer, not October! Best corrected pull was 236/236 in 4th. Pulls 2 & 3 are 4th gear and the 4th was in 3rd gear. Looks like I could lean things out when cobb finally lets Z's get protuned.

A dyno is a tuning tool. Dont use it to compare your ed!ck to others. If somebody else puts down 255whp SAE stock, dont feel bad, they are all different.

Your numbers are normal, if you had done research you would know that instead of coming on here looking for support or answers. Do you want us to tell you the car is weaksauce? BTW-every Z is different but my car always put down more power in 5th than in 4th...it made no sense but that's how my car works.

Here's my graph for reference. Means nothing really. I had 4 different runs and I gained like 10whp in between runs without changing anything. I have a borla catback, motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, Crawford HFC's.

I think the AccessPort map notes for stage 2 specifically says no intake modifications, headers, high flow cats, and catback; and the newer stage 2+ is everything above, and also includes intake kit, and plenum spacer. Technically speaking, your set-up is not supported by any of the off-the-shelf maps. Did you try the stage 1 map too?

I really wish Cobb would put out the protune software. I am using a plenum spacer and catback, which is a combination also unsupported by their current map selection. I don't think I'd get one until they release the protune.

After talking with cobb the stg 2 map is fine as long as you check your AF and I'm not running lean. They have to cover themselves because some mods cause the engine to run leaner by nature, then the map leans things out a little more. Otherwise in the unlikely event someone blows their engine because an intake leaned things out too much they could theoretically go after cobb. From my understanding the 2+ map is a little richer to prevent a lean condition, I could be wrong tho. Apparently the protune software should be getting released in the next few months, then the AP should prove to be worth every penny.

if you get a tune....you should look at another 10-12 hp more.

I did that once, then I realized the E-Brake was on.
