Default 2005 mt z and impossible to shift in reverse in cold weather

Even after warming up for 10 minutes in the morning, its either impossible or very hard to get into reverse. I have 38k miles and hav all the service done I.e oil changes and major tuneups. I'm wondering do I have to change the tranny fluid? Or is it the 05 tranny itself? Lmk, thanks.

Try...

Put in first gear, and then move to reverse.

What happens when you put it in reverse?

I have this problem with 2nd gear, but not reverse. 2nd gear doesn't work when it's cold (not even with a double-clutch) -- but is fine after the trans warms up. Not sure if this qualifies for any kind of warranty work or not. Do you know what weight your trans oil is?

New tranny oil will help this, if you are still running the original goo. Oil better than Nissan's will help even more. The car just sitting still and idling doesn't warm the transmission much at all.

If it's really stubborn, let the car roll a little or move the car slightly in 1st, then try again.

If you didn't replace your tranny fluid at 30k miles, it's time to do it now.

Transmission fluid will not fix a transmission.

If the transmission will not go in reverse then it must be broken.

I had the same problem a while back, so i took it to Nissan so they can replace the tranny oil and that worked for a little while then it started to happen again so i adjusted my clutch's engagement point. I put it a little higher and now it works perfect... you should try it, it worked for me

Why does "35oz-tech" come out as ********* ?

if you've adjusted it before than i'm 99% sure that you went too far and that why it doesn't let you go into reverse .

Not trying to be a smart ***, But since no one has touched on it.. you are pushing down on the shifter before moving into reverse aren't you?

of course! i found out that the problem is the clutch engagement point. i adjusted it a while back since the pedal was too far up. i've adjusted it too low so that the gears are technically engaged even before i engage the clutch. thanks for your help!!
