Interesting... Saw a Stillen S/C Z at the drag tonite...

I think this is the problem
19"s are going to be hard to launch with that much power...that's the sacrifice you make when you go with big azz wheels...He needs 17" racing rims w/slicks...IMHO
When my friends and I ran there on a Wed. night, the surface was freezing, and it was like trying to get traction on ice that night. I (2001 911) ran a 14.0-14.1 on full tire inflation and 0 traction. My friend (2002 M3) ran a 14.0-14.1 too. Both did around 100 mph. I would expect the Stillen SC 350 Z to at least match us. If the 911 & M3 are very low-low 13 sec. cars, and stock 350Z's are high 13 second cars I would expect $5K to get you to at least the low 14's-high 13's (at LACR). I know different circumstances but that is pretty sad. Maybe it's true about all these dyno showing the Stillen SC's adding 30 whp.

The dyno sheets that were run by Turbo, SportZ Magazine and on their 350Z / G35 Day (which were all separate dynos) all have some pretty good gains for a C.A.R.B. certificate (pending) blower. Where'z the 30 whp coming from??
Let me sell you some parts. If you'll pay $5000 to have a longer 1/4 mile time....QUOTE: "and stock 350Z's are high 13 second cars I would expect $5K to get you to at least the low 14's-high 13's (at LACR)".
Just giving you a hard time - no offense meant.
I've driven and ridden in 2 different Supercharged Z Cars that were both hooked up with the STILLEN blower. Each one was pretty flippen fast and almost no noise (crickets) from the blower. Their non-C.A.R.B. intercooler setup is going roast some *****.... Andrew at STILLEN says its coming up fast, "they're prototyping the setup right now". He says there are Nissan Dealers that are installing their systems. If anyone is in Colorado - there's a dealership (I'll try to call and get the name from him) where the GM has installed one... That's f%***in cool that you can take your car to the dealer without them running as far as they can from your car when it comes to service IMO.

so you are telling me that 19" rims will counter the horsepower that a supercharger adds? That doesn't sound right to me. How are 19" rims going to counterbalance that much additional horsepower?

The stock 350 Z has run 14 flats, 13.9's in good conditions. If you have ever been to LACR you will understand the term "less than ideal" conditions.....actually closer to "about the crappiest conditions you will ever see." A 14 sec. car will get you to 15 sec., a 13 sec. car will get you high 13's-14..etc. Hence I would expect a legitimate 13 flat, low 13 sec. car to get into the high 13's, 14 flat at LACR. Like our cars did. Like many of the posters above said a 14.6-14.7 is what a stock 350Z should be doing.
I didn't take any offense to your comments, you just have to understand that track is pretty poor.

Ahh ok gotcha yeah from my understanding bigger wheels will give you slower acceleration on the bottom end but help out in the top end. You should see this if you only change wheel sizes. However this guy threw a supercharger on his car and his times don't reflect it. In this particular situation I would have to say that it is driver error. As far as wheel hop goes there should be away to counter that may need to up the suspension or adjust driving technique. Exactly what you would need to do in those departments I am not for sure however.
i have the Stillen SC nad let me tell you in hot weather the car feels slow as hell. When I drive it at night in the So Cal low 70 degree temps the car feels much faster. I know that Stillen is testing the intercooler right now. I was just there and told them I wanted to be first on the list to get it installed. Anyone else have a Stillen SC or ATI in Los Angeles area. i would like to check out the ATI and compare it to my Stillen SC.
