Default Rear coolant by pass kit..Does this work?

http://www.forgedinternals.com/store...cat=316&page=1

As per the title, any of you guys had any experience with this.?

I am running a 600 bhp Z and was considering fitting this as an aid to keep the coolant temps down.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex.

Yes they do work. Motordyne sells them too.

well he was asking about one thing and you suggest another unrelated one.

it's like someone asking about oranges at store A and being told that store B sells apples

the thing motordyne offers is to control the coolant flow to the throttle body - it does not help cooling whatsoever, it just allows you to turn on or off the coolant passage - like a faucet

the kit that the OP is asking about is made up of a series of parts, and allows better coolant flow from one head to the other at the rear section of the engine, with the addition of a new cross pipe with integrated thermostat

ZManalex - highly recommended for big power cars, as it really does a great job of keeping temps more consistent head to head

Again, Motordyne offers another type of bypass kit. I never said it was the same type. Since he was interested in getting better cooling, everythign helps.

edit, nevermind - what you are talking about and what I mentioned above are the same thing. Motordyne has a CCV (coolant control valve) that installs at the throttle body. It lets the user prevent, or allow the flow of coolant to the throttle body (the factory setup allows for coolant to flow to the throttle body). It has nothing to do with what the OP was asking about though, and really doesn't offer better cooling for the engine - it can make for a slightly less messy install though

Thanks for that Adam,

I should have bounced this off you on the Z U.K.forum, just never thought mate.

I have ordered one up anyway as every little helps.

What about the thermal gasket for the bottom of the plenum, does this help a bit as well?

Cheers,

Alex.

it cant hurt I'm sure, but I stick to OEM when it comes to gaskets - cheap, easy to get

Are you referring to the rear coolant by pass kit or the thermal gasket.?

Yeah! minus 5 degrees C tonight, that's about 20F isn't it.
