2JZ or RB motor swap? what do you think??
keep and build the vq...but if your serious you can do the swap yourself(no labor costs) for around 6-7k. Check out 2jzswap.com, they sell swap kits complete with driveshaft and even plug and play wire harness swap kits. The kits is about 2k if i remember. 2j's are not the easiest thing to wire, my friend has a r32 skyline gts with a rb20 in it that recently got swapped for a 1j and he is no slouch when it comes to wiring and it still took him 3 days to get it right and running so get the plug and play harness kit imo....good luck
Well I am building and putting a RB26 in my Z hopefully this winter... As of right now i will be using two GT28 turbos and 44 Tial wastgates. It will have a R33 RWD transmission. I have heard a lot of people hate on this idea. It is not for the faint of heart. You need to know your stuff. I would not be doing this swap if i had never done a motor build or a engine swap before. If you are new to the idea of building a FI car or a Swap car then id steer you towards the VQ build but if you want to the RB26 then by all means go for it. Let me know about your progress
If youre going to do a swap, go for the shock value and go with a Titan motor. I believe its a 5.7.... PM me up if interested in the motor. I believe one of my guys has one in stock.
