yeah I have a larger oil capacity with a cooler and all.

The quality of motor oil has undergone great improvement in the last 15-20 years; ESPECIALLY, synthetic oil. You can get MOBIL 1's 12k-mile-change oil! I do an oil change a year, and it comes out still amber-colored, not nasty black, like dino oil. Get a high quality oil filter, and you're all set! Do your homework, and save time, effort & $$ (even considering the high price of synth' oil, it's worth the investment).

 

while i do agree that you can go over 3k miles it should be noted that BMW's have a higher oil capacity than we do
