Yeah I did, then I slapped it around a bit and made it feel bad about itself.

It's quiet now. Same thing works with women.

OMFG

Are you serious? It whined on me when it was -20C (-4F) and it whined but it seemed like the whine came from the rear end.

I have warranty until June so I should get it checked.

I have something similar going on to what Cheston is saying...when I've had my car parked in the cold for a long time, when I start up is whines and screeches at about 2.5~3K rpm...then goes away when it warms up...

Is this normal...?

Cars are kind of like people in that when they are freezing they don't tend to work perfectly. Some noises are to be expected in extreme cold.

3rd and 4th seem to do this all the time, mine does this , and has always done this. The 09 (i believe) tranny is worse than the original tranny.

In hondas, it's usually the differential fluid. Swap out the differential fluid and see if it makes a difference.

Mine is doing the same thing in sixth gear around 3k rpm. It's loud as hell and only happens when throttle is being applied. If I let off the gas it stops. It's definitely the tranny and not the differential (although the differential was loud also until I changed the fluid recently).

I'll be flushing out the tranny fluid and will let you know if it makes a difference. Now that I got rid of the potenzas and put dynamat in the rear it's the loudest thing on the road at 85mph.

It happened to me in the cold morning too, but it's gone once it's warmed up.

I had the same problem, turns out i needed a new tranny.
Luckily I had warranty, after the swap I still heard a whining around 2ks (give or take) and I live in Florida so the cold isnt bad.
Its normal to have a little whine but if its really loud you should definitly take it to the stealership

stealerships don't know anything about this. They just keep replacing trannies but it doesn't fix it. We need to figure this one out on our own so we can start going to the dealers knowing what we're talking about.
