Injector Installation Help
Hey guys and gals. I just sold my Greddy 660cc injectors to another member on the board(projectZ). Her and Nathan could use some help with the install.
Issue #1 From what I know, these injectors share the same dimensions as RC injectors and use the same RC clips. Nathan told me that the injectors are taller than the factory injectors and that the rail sits to high. What needs to be done about this?
Issue #2 Nathan explained that the diameter is different and the o-ring doesn't fit tight in the rail. What can be done about this?
Any help is appreciated here. I didn't install/uninstall so I really haven't been able to help much. I guess i'll call Altered on monday if nothing prevails here. Thanks.

I just attempted to fit the other end of the injector that plugs into the head and it does not seal either. I thought it was strange that there is no oring on that end so I tried using the stock oring from the stock injector and once again it will not work. I am starting to think that maybe these injectors somehow got mixed up through the shop that pulled them off.
I havent used Greddy branded 660cc Injectors before. Were these every installed on a 350Z previously? I think you need an RC Injector pig tail, or their PnP connectors.
With HKS injectors, we make a small machining modification to the injector to make it fit, and unless run a 10mm machined spacer for the rail. I have some of those spacers in stock if you need them...just call the shop on Monday.

The injectors are actually made by Denso but sold by Greddy as "Greddy" Injectors. The part number is: 195500-0610. If the groove where the oring seats on the injector (fuel rail side) were machined a little wider than the stock injector oring might be able to be used but even than it's still not a good fit. The side that plugs into the head still has an issue with fitting. I understand that the fuel rail can be spaced up slightly but it just seems like these injectors are not designed for this application. We were looking for a more plug and play installation. We need to get this project done by the end of the month. I have no problem soldering new connectors on as most aftermarket injectors require this. ATP Turbo sells the connectors for $5.95 each (part #:ATP-ACS-013).
OK, then this injector is the same body as the HKS injectors we use. The solution is a machining the injector for the larger O-ring groove, and a set of fuel rail spacers, along with new connectors if you need those.
THe HKS injectors we use, use the OEM connector.

Were they on his car with the stock fuel rails? My first thought is maybe the stock rails are a little different on the inside and the aftermarket rails are machined slightly different on the inside??? Even then, the bottom of the injector should fit in the manifold. I can't tell from pics, but my first thought is they don't fit this application. Maybe call Greddy with that part number that is on the injecotr and make sure before you spend time modifying things? Surely, if these have been run before on a G/Z then, they must fit some combination.

For Michelle or Nathan(whoever is posting), I did not install or uninstall the injectors so I have absolutely no idea as to how to install them or how they fit etc. IDK. These were uninstalled by Altered Atmosphere and given to me along with my Borla exhaust when the car was picked up for the motor trans break-in. You've mentioned that perhaps there was a mishap at that point and that I could have gotten the wrong injectors but I think that's out of the scope of reality. As far as I know, this is the only top feed Greddy 660cc injector available which is what my motor started it's life on. In short, no mix up.
I've gone out of my way here and I don't really appreciate the fact that you post in other threads trying to convince people that I sold you the wrong part etc. Please check my FS thread again and note the pictures that were/are posted. You PMed me about the injectors in Dec. and then out of nowhere, you PM me a week ago and want to buy them. I wasn't beating your door down trying to sell them to you. You asked me for pics at that point which I gave you within minutes. You asked me if the fuel rails needed to be modified which they don't(again, i'll be posting pics of the OEM injectors sitting in the aftermarket rails). If you needed clips, it was CLEARLY posted that I had them for sale and they were additional. Seriously, what more could I have done here?
We said earlier that the clips are not the issue. The issue is that the injectors simply do not fit. Did you call altered atmosphere yet and ask them? We talked to them yesterday and they seem to think these injectors need to be machined....which would indicate that they are not drop in and perhaps were not working correctly on your car. You said that you would call them yesterday but you did not.
Also, what I post on my zclub forum is my business and I don't appreciate you stalking my posts. I have my motor completey out and just lost $475+ on a part that does not work I am very upset and this point and feel like I've been misled. I wanted to handle this professionally and have requested my money back due to the fact that these injectors are not what you sold them to me as. I'm sorry you do not have the mechanical knowledge but please give altered a call and discuss it with them. I would much rather use these injectors then go through all this hassle but if they do not work then they do not work.

Also I did not ask if the fuel rail needed to be modified I asked if the injectors needed to be modified to fit the stock fuel rail. Go back and check the PM's please. Which if they do need to be machined that would indicate that this statement is not true.

I didn't have time to call and yes, the clips aren't an issue now as you figured out you need clips. Are we speaking the same language? Since the point has not been driven home yet i'm gonna go bold. THESE INJECTORS WERE ON MY MOTOR. THE CAR WAS LOADED AND UNLOADED ON A TRAILER AND IDLED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE GOING TO 1000cc HKS INJECTORS. Wow, I can't believe your still questioning whether they were on my car and if Altered gave me the right injectors back.
Stalking your posts....not even. I just wanted to see if you were making any effort to aid your own situation since I had to start a thread on your behalf. I don't really have much mechanical knowledge and that's why I pay qualified people to do most of the work on my cars. Maybe you should to. I'm pretty sure it was no miracle that these worked fine on my car and that I now have factory injectors in the very same fuel system that also work fine.

I have asked several companies and they have said that these injectors will not work on a 350Z. Glad to see you are so mature about the matter. I will forward the emails to you if you would like.
Just so you know who you are dealing with at this point, this is Nathan.
First off, as a responsible seller, it is your responsibility to go to the effort of helping your customer if they have issues with something you sold them. You should also have a better understanding of what you are selling in the future.
These injectors are made by Denso, part #:195500-0610. It is clearly marked on the side of the injectors. They are by no means Greddy injectors. Greddy may sell these injectors but they are not manufactured by Greddy. You sold them as Greddy 660cc injectors.
These Denso injectors are not designed for a Nissan 350z or Infiniti G35. You only have to research the part numbers to know that. I have talked with a few people from Altered Atmosphere that you say removed these injectors from your car. I have been speaking with them over the past couple days. Their shop mechanic that does their installs says that these injectors need to be machined on a lave to fit a 350z or G35 as the recess for the oring is not wide enough. They also said that they will never use this type of injectors due to the fitment issues they had.
Going back to previous p/m's between you and Michelle, she asked "Is there any modification needed to run these on the stock fuel rail?” You replied "There is no modification needed to run these on the stock fuel rails.” Because you didn't do the install or the removal, you would have no idea how these injectors were installed in the first place other than that they come off your car. The fuel rail also sits up 3/4 of an inch higher which I would consider modifying the fuel rail. The fuel rail no longer sits in its factory position and would require 20mm spacers or larger which you did not supply. It may have been unintentional but you have falsely led Michelle by telling her that there is no modification needed when in fact there is. How would you even know this since you say “I did not install or uninstall the injectors so I have absolutely no idea as to how to install them or how they fit etc. IDK”.
I don't know why you keep bringing the clip subject up because we already discussed that over the phone as not being an issue.
You insult my father and I by saying "I pay qualified people to do most of the work on my cars. Maybe you should to." My father is about as qualified as they get as an engineer and I myself have more experience than a lot of people working at shops. If these injectors were installed on your car like you say they were, than it would have been a very poor installation that would have issues down the road w/o the required modifications to the injectors. You only ran these injectors for 10 or so minutes but I guarantee you would have had issues had you kept them on your car. The bottom line is that you did not clearly know what you were selling and as a result, sold a product to someone that does not fit what you said it does. These injectors are not designed to fit a Nissan 350z or G35 or VQ35DE for that matter.
I have already requested over the phone that you refund Michelle's money and we send you the injectors back. You said you would think about it and get back to me. It is the right thing to do at this point and if you can't see that than I’m sorry but you don't know how to do business. If you can’t handle this situation the right way than why would anyone want to do business with you in the future?

I'm getting so tired of this. Now your saying they aren't Greddy injectors? In actuality they are indeed Greddy injectors. If you were to go out tomorrow and buy a set of 660cc Greddy injectors, this is exactly what you would get. If you buy a Lexus and it's made at a Toyota plant, is it a Toyota or a Lexus? It's a Lexus. So what if Denso makes them for Greddy? Whats your point? They are distributed as Greddy by Greddy. I can't believe that your actually trying to say that they aren't Greddy injectors.I did do a little research and these like the RC injectors do require spacers for the fuel rails. I didn't know that nor do I have any spacers(at least not in the box the injectors were in) so that was completely unintentional. I'd be more than happy to buy the spacers and mail them to you if that makes you feel better. Even then, it was obvious in the ad that I was selling the injectors only and that I had clips if needed. I had a pic posted of what was for sale and I took an additional pic and PMed you with it. Either way, i'd send you the spacers if you'd like.
I hear what your saying about the fuel rail mod but these were installed in my rails which now have factory injectors in them and work flawless(albeit I haven't driven the car much at highway speeds due to an issue with shifting). Also, I wasn't insulting anyone. I personally could care less what you or your father do. I think it's amusing that you believe that your more qualified then "a lot of people working at shops." Sure. I was just saying that I don't tinker with my cars for this reason alone. And lastly, I'm glad you think I did not know what I was selling. I thought "Greddy 660cc Injectors"was pretty obvious. Thanks and let me know if you'd like me to get some spacers and send them to you.
I want my money back. If you would pick up the phone and call any shop they will tell you these injectors are not for a 350Z and need to be machined to fit. You have lied to me saying that these will go in without modification. Call altered like you said you would. Stop playing games I am getting so sick of this.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Do the right thing and refund me my money so I can buy the correct injectors and get on with my turbo build.

Uhhh... not even. That's been cleared up and the trans DID NOT have a prior owner. I was the owner before it left SFR so move on please. Ernie got his deposit back and everything was fine aside from the fact that Ernie never submitted a claim to UPS.
Michelle, you already escalated your PayPal dispute to a claim and it was decided in my favor.
