Default Best Torque Increases?

I agree that getting horespower is great especially at high speeds but Im more interested in achieving more torque. I think in daily driving and for 0-60 improvements it would be mouch more effective. What do you guys think? And what would be the most effective mod for achieving more TQ?

Converters! Gains between 3000 and 4800 rpm were 5 to 7+ ft-lbs.

If you got an auto tranny, replacing the stock torque converter with a high-stall converter would give you a lot of bang for the buck. If set up right, significant increase in torque with minimal loss of horsepower on the high end.

Thanks for the reply. Could you explain further about the converters?

EnthuZiast,

Do you mean cat converters? Or the Torque Converter on an automatic?

Final Drive swap for shorter gears to manipulate torque and put more of your existing torque to the ground more effecitvely. Of course the con with this is that it makes the gears crank up quicker, kinda like adding a lightweight flywheel. I think 4.44 would provide great acceleration without totally making 1st gear worthless. Hmmm... Only difference with gears Enthu is that your making better use of engine torque rather than throwing more into the mix. But if couse, who doesnt love more torque

the car moves pretty good for havin a 3.538:1 in there, but it definitely could b improved. too bad the roadster didn't have a different final drive; that woulda been an "easy" swap.

By running 255/40/17s on the rear, the final drive goes to 3.7:1 (if my math is correct). The tire wheel diameter in 4.65% shorter. After this mod, my car trips off the TC with just mashing the throttle on the roll. I have to drive with it off to keep the driver aid from cutting in and spoiling my fun. The tires also have a sizable increase in stiction over the RE040s being Goodyear F1 GS-D3s, FWIW.
