It might have made the O2 throw a code. I would give it time before you do anything and try to get the code cleared.

owner's manual says not to use it, or any other additives b/c of potential of wear/damage to engine components.

I used to use it on my Audi 1.8t's every 20k or so..they way we did it on audis is to suck it through the vacuum line leading into the intake manifold.. Worked great on those cars.
