Oil cooler without thermostat
Can anyone comment on running oil cooler without thermostat?
I know thermostat will help heating the oil up quicker and etc, but then i see Stillen sell their kit without thermostat, thinking maybe there was a reason why they didnt put thermo there except cost saving.
I guessing stock oil cooler/warmer will actually help oil warming up in case of it running too cold, has anyone had any experiment on this ?

The OP was asking about installing an oil cooler without an oil thermostat. Not referring to the coolant thermostat.
Personally I prefer to have an oil stat when running an external oil cooler. Especially if you're going to be driving the car any in cold weather, getting the oil up to operating temperature is just as important as keeping it cool.

Thanks , for asking this question i had just not got around to asking it ,so yes i guess from the sounds of things and oil thermo would be a good idea, are there different versions and if so what has or have people been using that are most effective?...Sorry dont mean to highjack your thread ...
OP ull be fine, just might take a little bit longer for the car to warm up. Probly not too noticeable. On some of the teen temp days we get would probly be a couple more mins. IF your evironment is warmer, probly not much a diff at all.
