350Z for 3 Weeks....Oil Issues Already!
Ok so in 3 weeks my oil is only halfway between the L and H line on th edipstick...that being said, the oil light is not on in the car. Should I be concerned yet? Also how many quarts of oil do I need to add if it is halfway to the "H" on the dipstick? Please help - worried new owner here.
Yes it's an '06 MT 6spd

actually from low to high on dipstick is about quart
and it is suppose to be in the middle of it
and it also depends when you check'em
try checking first thing in the morning when the oil's all on the pan it should read full

I plan to read the entire "replace the motor" encyclopedia that you guys have so thoughtfully written over the years. However, can someone sum up how I go about doing this? Here's the background on the car:
1. Someone in ATL owned it
2. Carmax acquired it
3. I purchased it from Carmax
4. The car is a 2006 MT 6spd with 24K miles on it
How do I start this process to determine if it is necessary or not to replace the motor? I'd like to get some expert advice from actual Z owners here...I greatly value all of your insight.
Thanks in advance fellas!

I think I may be in the clear because I've been running the car hard for the last 2 weeks (enjoying the speed it was built for). If the oil line is supposed to be between the L and the H after resting for a few hours then I'm good to go. It's about 3/4ths up the way to the H line. I'll continue to monitor for the next couple of weeks.

Take the car to Nissan. They should do a consumption test.
Read this thread, and then do as davidv suggested.
