Find a new dealership, plain and simple. If the car is under warranty this should be covered. Nissan knows all too well the Zs transmission issues. Don't let them pawn the cost of their crappy synchro design on you (I'm obviously giving you the benefit of the doubt here and assuming you know how to drive)

I would suggest going to Palm Beach Performance. Mike knows the score with these transmissions, so he shouldn't give you too much hassle. It's a ways away (55 miles one way for me), but the professional service is well worth it.

I am getting a bit scared on this issue. I have an 08 Nismo so far 16K miles on her, so far no issues.

How do you tell if your tranny is grinding? Maybe its something that I missed during all these time. How do I look for grinding? Is it something so obvious that I won't be able to miss?

Please share your exp with me please.
Thanks

If you didn't notice it yet, then it's not grinding.

+1

Grinding is obvious. If you literally hear and feel grinding in shifter, then you're tranny is grinding. Your hand will buzz like crazy from the vibrating caused by grinding.

My 07 NISMO grinds going into 2nd gear at high rpms and when I do it fast. It only has 16,5k but it has done this since around 5k of miles. I just deal with it as I don't shift to 2nd at high rpms too often and when I do, I don't try to force it in anymore and let it slide in when it's ready.

The dealer down here told me it's common issue with the 350z and recommended I wait a bit longer through the warranty and get it replaced before my warranty goes out.
