Default Grinding/Rattling with acceleration, but not when shifting.

I've just spend the last 45 minutes searching the forums for the words grinding, rattling, and whatever I can find on tranny noises.

It seems like a lot of people have grinding and rattling noises, but mostly when shifting gears and/or sitting at idle.

I don't have either of those issues, however, when accelerating most of the time I hear a grinding sound that turns into kind of a rattle. This is a new occurrence that has me worried.

The clutch isn't slipping or popping out and it accelerates great, the car seems to have a lot of power. The car is a 2005 Enthusiast 6MT. The clutch grabs tight and there is no grinding during shifts at all.

I can hear the quiet grinding noise the best during 1st and 2nd gear accelerating constantly but slowly and after that the exhaust gets too loud to hear much of it. When I rev the motor when not in gear it revs smoothly with no noticeable missing and no grinding/rattling.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Stock clutch still chatters. Mine chatters all the time, at idle or when accelerating at low rpms.

sounds like a throw-out bearing from what I understand, however is that this is normal for the Z.

That's kind of what I'm hoping, but I've never driven a car where this feeling is normal before. I'll have to ride in a few other Z's and see if I ever hear the same type of noise.

Really what it sounds like is that there is something loose and when accelerating it is rattling around and vibrating.

it cant hurt to get it checked out. could be something lose. If it were me I would go with my gut and have it checked out either way just to be on the safe side.
