Question What Do CAMS Do?

I did a forum and web search for this, no help...

Can everybody pitch in they're 2 cents about what CAMS do?

What do they stand for?

How come changing the CAMS would not be good with FI?
Thanks

Thanks for the link!

Why would current cams offered by nismo not be ideal for Forced Induction?

No one is sure that they aren't ok for FI. If they turn out to be incompatible with FI then it would be because the overlap is too big. This means that there is potential to have the exhaust valve open before the intake valve closes and that would kill the effects of boost. Chances are, the NISMO cams do not have this property and will be ok. But in order to truly understand compatibility and effectiveness of the aftermarket cams we must first know the properties of the factory cams. I have not seen that info posted yet.

This could be measured with a set of calipers, no? The lift could definitely be measured, the duration may require a more accurate instrument.
