I am having a problem bleeding my clutch. I have never had a problem like this before so here goes.... I installed an ATS twin disc last week and since then I can pump up the pedal and bleed the air out like 20 times and the clutch works for about an hour, but if I let it sit overnight I have to grab the pedal and physically pull it up and begin to pump it up until it works again.

The clutch worked great when I had the JWT in it. Could I have a bad slave or master cylinder or is it just more air in the lines? I am going to try a vacuum on it tonight, but any help would be appreciated.

 

I had a similar problem when I switched out my JWT Combo for a Nismo Twin Disc, no matter how much time we spent bleeding and replenishing the fluid the pedal would not come up. I ended up having to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder and solved my problem.

 

dude, just keep pumping with the pedal!

do not use vacumme pumps - this clutch system will not work that way - see your owners manual - it even tells you not to use vacumme pumps on bleeding the clutch line.

it took me F.O.R.E.V.E.R. to pump and pump and pour and pour till finally it worked perfect!!


For next time:
The only thing you can use on these is a motive power bleeder, but you need to replace the fluid reservoir with a Wilwood "screw on cap type" so you can screw on the motive power bleeder adapter.

Also,
You can switch out the clutch Reservoir with a Wilwood p/n 260-10204 ($8) with mount 250-10263 ($7) and universal mount it where the oem goes. Thus giving you a screw cap style reservoir to use with the correct motive power bleeder adapter.

It will take a long time, but keep pumping the pedal and releasing air bubbles...........mine took hours!!!

If it works one day and not the other, theres a problem with the slave, line or master. Check for leaks or cracks or anything unusual
