that guys list for low 12s is ridiculous...theres no way that those items would get you 12s - sorry. Easiest NA solution is by far the kit that makes the engine a 4.3 (for some reason my mind totally blanked on what we call this type of kit). Get the 4.3 kit, stronger pistons & rods, and change to higher compression.

Edit: stroker kit is what i was trying to say, i believe AEBS makes it or something

Yeah AEBS Stroker kit. $8000. He was saying something about an inexpensive way to make a quick Z?

Stroker kit is a nice way to go, but it would require a guinea pig. And would require more than $10,000 dollars to complete.

As for the ridiculousness of low 12's via my present course, I would disagree. Right now, on street tires I'm at 13.3. I need slicks and 40hp to lop off 1 second. The crawford package comes in a 20hp peak and 40 up top. Throw in cams, VTCG and an LSD and I'm pretty sure that would give me enough hp to make low 12's a real possibility. I guess we'll find out next year when I add that stuff.

I know the whole point of this thread is to go N/A but wouldn't it be a whole lot easier to rebuild the motor with forged 8:5:1 turbo pistons (i.e. Venolia), crank, con rods, metal head gasket, ARP hardware and an intercooled turbo kit (i.e. APS)?

If you're gonna break the bank for a N/A setup, you may as well do it "right" the 1st time around...

What about this thread regarding Individual Throttle Bodies with a supposed 340 rwhp?

but not everyone wants FI. I am personally not doing it purely for the reliability factor. Yes NA is costing alot to do, but at the end of the day it will be a far more reliable package for what I need, which is a car that will be driven everyday, and about 25k a year until the GTR is here.

Since I have a 600 hp turbo car already, this will be a nice compliment and a good way to learn this motor.

As for the 1.4 mile time sbeing ridiculous, please, please realize it's all speculation. The car very well could do it, or it could not....till someone actually HAS all the parts on the car, keep it friendly and free of absolute conclusions. I promise guys when my heads are done and my ecu choice is made, I'll take my car to E Town and do a 1/4 mile run.

I just bough a Z but my previous car was a 2001 Z06 corvette, even though it only had 385HP/TQ it still smoked every car I ever got a chance to race. The tires were 295's and with that much HP there was no comparison especially considering that the Z06 weight less than a Z

But one thing I can say for sure it that the Z is a better daily driver/sports car. The only thing laggin in my book us just a small deficit of 100 HP.
