Not sure if this is a repost or not- if so my apologies. Quick article on the 350z project car at SCC mag. Including install and their thoughts on Kaaz LSD and JWT flywheel.
Edit -might help if I actually included the link:

Do you know if they had a follow up article in the September issue? I missed that one on the stands so I don't know what's going on. I also think there was supposed to be a Stoptech related article in the Sept. issue as well. Anybody with this information?

False. I just returned from the track last weekend and the T1s were excellent. Two weeks before that I was at the same track and had stock tires/wheels, they were awful. Toyos are well known to have great stick and get better throughout their life.

personally I never believe what the magazines say. It's all politics and what not. If Toyo was a sponsor for the SCC magazine. They would never say something like that. Since Toyo don't pay SCC. And someone else pay them, off course I can imagine them saying whatever that pops up in their head.

Politics gets into everything. Back when i was into paintball before it got too trendy, there was honest buisness in the aftermarket. Then the larger companies got gready and played on advertising and bling value instead of real performance. From then on, alot of the qualities of the sport went down hill. Only a handfull of companies and products show up periodicaly to force everyone else to new standards now.

I don't want to get into a flame war of which tires are better. But I'll assure you anyone who have ever owned a set of T1s. Will tell you they are top notch. At least this is all of my opinion.

I'm sorry, but that article does not say anything bad about the T1S at all from what I read...all it showed me was they chose the wrong size for the front, hence the reduced turn it.
The tires are very predictable (they are), which the article mentioned....I have never had anythign short of good results with the Toyo's, as with most tires in that vein

The Toyo Proxes T1-S is far from the stickiest tire we could have chosen.
However....
They (T1-S)are, subjectively, probably on par with the stock tires for ultimate grip
Take it with a grain of salt. I actually didn't pay to much attention to their review of the tires but more to the Kazz and JWT flywheel.

I would agree.. but is that a fair comparison? most of us are running a good bit wider than stock size...
but I donno.
all in all, they didnt manage to improve their quarter mile time with new rims, tread, LSD, and flywheel... they HURT their slalom, and couldnt improve their skidpad.
not for nothing, but way back when they managed to get over 1G on the skid pad with some half *** tuning, what happened?

Yeah, why do magazines rant and rave over how much traction the ultra high performance street tires give them when your run of the mill R compound will readilly trounce any and every street tire in existence? You want impressive slalom times, skid pad numbers? Throw some Hoosiers on and start shattering records. Apparently, their main concern isn't snow traction or standing water dispersion, so lose the cheese tires and slap some R compounds on. Hell, that's what I do....
