Default 350Z vs. G35 Sedan: turbos and other aftermarket performance mods

I want to buy a G35 Sedan.

What turbo kits are currently available for the 350Z? And can any of these kits be applied to the G35 Sedan?

What about other mods, like intakes, camshafts, etc...? Will an aftermarket intake manifold for the 350Z fit on the G35 Sedan?

I know they're the same engine, but that doesn't mean everything will fit.

Thanks.

First of all, do yourself a favor and use search. I cannot cover it all in one post.

Right at this moment, I think ATI is making a SC for the G35, call them and make sure. You can also call Jeff at performance Nissan or Greg at Mossy Nissan in Oceanside Ca. They are up on upgrades and have great prices. Greg knows hp gains on all Nissan/Nismo upgrades.

I hope this helps, now do your homework and search. Jeff

Nothing for the G35 Sedan right now - the ATI SC is only for the coupe. Sedan uses a front pulley to drive the fans where Z and G35 coupe have electric fans.

Search is the first place I go to.

Seems to me that putting an electric fan in the Sedan wouldn't be too much trouble.

But I'm not really interested in a belt-driven supercharger anyway.

Yeah, I've thought about that. But it looks like the AWD version will only be available with an automatic.

Now if somebody has a turbo kit available, then I'll happily settle for an automatic.

Talking Got some decent answers for yah;)

We have been doing some dyno testing with the G35 Sedan AT this week

Mods customer has done

INJEN CAI
CRAWFORD PLENUM
TECHNOSQUARE ECU
CRAWFORD CATS
FUJITSUBO Y PIPE
CUSTOM glasspack (flowmaster/dynomax? not sure)
Stock Muffler

We pulled 236.6 hp and 220.8 torque

Stock baseline 216.4 and 217.4

We did have a small exhaust leak when we did this so we redynoed yesterday but I didn't get the results yet. All I can say I was impressed these are pretty good numbers for a AT Sedan. this surpases our stock 350Z MT's of around 230-233. I wonder what 350Z AT get in cali on a dynojet. I hate dynoing AT Z's or G's!! The g35 sedan AT was tricky as it would throw itsself into another gear

We were playing with taking the manual fan, since they don't have an electric fan like us and will play more with a full cat back exhaust probably and headers in the future

Zya!

Hey guys

It is my 5AT G35 sedan that Yuichi was talking about. Guess what Yuichi, we pulletd 241HP that day that you had to leave. We also held the fan with a 2x4 and the clutch started to smoke at ~4000rpm (not something I would do everyday, but, hey, for the sake of science...), indicating that there is a significant drag from the mechanical fan. Also, and you will see this when i post the dyno of this soon, when we pulled the 2x4 out, the HP curve just dropped off on the dyno, a good 5+ HP, if not significanlty more than that (7-9? HP - I hope). I am going to change the fan for sure, sooner rather than later.

What do you guys think?

The G35 6mt, of course does NOT use a mechanical fan like the automatic sedan's do. NO I've got a electric fan.

Their's no reason the sedan can't have any of the aftermarket header's installed. If I had getting one on my list, I'd order one without a thought of worry concerning fitment.

that's what I am thinking ont he headers too. Will be getting them asap. I heard they provide for a considerable low-end torque increase i addition to the high-end.

Headers for the 3.5 in the G35 Sedan? Are they full length or shorties?

You sound surprised. Their isn't much that the sedan can't use off of 350Z applications, since the car's are very much the same mechanically. God bless platform engineering. Embrace it as your friend

Their are headers that sorta use equal tubing, their are ones that do use equal length tubing and theirs one design that I know of that runs all the way down to replace/eliminate the cat down pipe's, which is my idea of full length. I personely want either the Nismo or the crawford, no way I'll touch the full length header design, I want the cats to be their, I've got high flow cats going in anyhow.

hey

I second that, G35coupe!

The Crawford headers are not the cat-bypass ones, i just mean that the length of hte pipes is longer tham others (check their website). And the crawford ones ARE equal length. These are the only ones to get!!! Got Doug's high-flow cats already!
