Default Oil Pan Spacer

How would an oil pan spacer affect performance? it supposedly allows for better cooling of oil and more oil capacity, but is it really worth a damn? and would that affect how my oil pressure gauge reads?

Basically, it's just giving you more capacity which doesn't affect performance in any way.

The pressure gauge reads from the block so there shouldn't be any difference with a spacer on it.
