i hate doing searches so...
lets post how you can buiild ur engine to withstand higher boost from tt's... i.e forged rods.... and the price they are goin for... so newbies like me can start buying bits and peices till the greddy comes out... THANK YOU
Probably the two main internal components you want to upgrade when you build an engine are the rods and pistons. As for prices, I don't know retail, I can only go by what's sgpracing is selling them at, but I'll tell you what I'm getting and paying for at cost.
Pauter forged rods, $1000 for the set
JE forged 9.0:1 forged pistons, rings and pins, $800
Depending on how much power you plan on putting down, you might want to swap out the rod bolts, main stud bolts etc.. for some Arp bolts or something. Arp bolts will run you about $250 or so, I don't have the exact price. One more thing, you might want to look into is swapping out the head gasket for some copper ones or something like that, but now your talking about running some serious power. I don't even know what the drive train is good for, something like 600whp. Just remember, with bad tuning, forget all this stuff, it's worthless and a waste of money. Oh, and upgrade your clutch for sure. I'm sure the stock clutch isn't worth anything when you go above 400hp, it won't last long at all.
