i bought my 03 couple weeks ago from the nissan dealer. i tried to find out if the car has the CD009 tranny variant over the phone by giving them the VIN # but they couldn't find out. all they told me was the older model got superseded by the newer version CD009. is there a way to verify which tranny model i have? is there like an imprint or something on the tranny to verify? if i have the older model, would the extended warranty replace it?

I would like to know this too. I might be going to go look at an '03 in a day or two. The owner said he's had "all" the warranty work done, to which he listed: toe alignment, Bose stereo, window snubbers. I'm not sure about the transmission, however.

 

It's hard to believe that there could be an 03 with a stock tranny.
How many miles are on the car and does it grind? if it has 30K+ miles on it and it doesn't grind, chances are you're ok.

My tranny started to grind around 17K

 

I have an 03. Stock tranny. 85k. No grinding.

 

i also have a 03 with 96xxx miles on tranny no problems at all

 

I am the original owner of an '03. No transmission problems for me either.
