Default Enging running hot?- New Z- Am I just parenoid?

Hey guys I purchased a used 350z and I have a question about the engine.

The temp guage is slighly below halfway - so everything checks up fine in that department

but I drove the car for about 15-20 minutes from cold, parked it and it was still SCORTCHING hot 30 -45 minutes later with the temp guage more or less in the same position on the dash.

The guage has never gone above normal operating temperature but the motor to the touch ( top part with the nissan writing ) felt absolutly scortching....even an hour later.

It does cool down and the guage eventually reads C so its not like the guage is not reacting..or maybe it is? is there ever issues with the temp guage not showing the TRUE reading of how hot it is?

THANKS

Chris

The car will stay warm for hours after you shut it off. Nothing to worry about.

Nothing to worry about. Just like any other car that has run in the summertime, it takes time to cool off when the hood is closed & the ambient temp. is in the 90's.
