Default oil consumption 1quart/500miles 35th anniv.ED

I just bought a 35th anniversary edition 350z used with 35K on it. It's burning 1 quart/500miles.. rediculous!!! No accidents, and paid 28,000 for it.
There's a TSB on the engine from NNA-Nissan North America but this is only in the USA. I live In Ontario, Canada and I thought the engines were the same (USA compared to Canada).
Why is there no TSB in Canada???

Does anybody Know what course of action I should take??? Apparently In Canada it's up to the dealership to decide wether it under warranty but it's my understanding that in the USA there are guidelines through NNA.

I need some help fast.. Please :S

Simple arithmetic I figure 20 quarts of oil every 10,000 miles! Unfortunately there is no minor fix for this.

The car is under warranty?

Nissan will not give you a rebuilt or new motor?

The car has a powertrain warranty till 2010 or 60,000 miles. I'm at 38,000 right now.
I had the oil changed 3 times in 3 months... the oil that was left was clean.. then when i took it to Nissan and told them it was burning a lot of oil the did an oil change and said the oil was "very dirty".. I had an oil change from Mr.Lube done 9 days prior to nissan doing that oil change. I think they're lying about the oil... I've checked the dipstick everyday since the Mr.lube oil change and it's been the perfect golden color. I even checked it right before it went in to Nissan.

Can the oil be that dirty but not show any signs on the dipstick??????

All 2006 350z and the 2005 track + 35th anniv cars have a TSB on the engines for burning oil
Apparently that only covers the cars from the USA
Does the USA and Canadain 350z have the same engine??? why no TSB for canada?

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin

I also live in Canada and currently have an 06 gt 6 spd. The oil burning in mine was only around a quart every 4000 km so I dont think it is a problem. I recently switched to running royal purple oil and now it doesnt burn a drop. Is this just a coincidence? or will different oils actually make a difference? Im not trying to hijack the thread just stating what worked for me. I hope nissan gives you some help with the problem.

Clean oil - dirty oil no matter.

You will have to convince Nissan that you are using oil. They should do a consumption test. This is not rocket science.

Right on the first page, it says "All VIN's". I'm pretty sure that includes Canadian models?

Sounds like you need a new dealer/service department. NNA.. North America is a continent.. Canada is a part of it.

The dealership should be running an oil consumption test which usually consists of you doing 3-5 consecutive oil changes at that dealer. It's a time consuming process, but can usually get you a new motor if you have an obvious problem. This shouldn't require a tsb, yo have a legitimate problem.

You have a bad engine. It is under warranty. Be persistent. Curse. Throw things.

OP,
Most of your questions were answered in the E/C section. As was mentioned, read the OC thread. Call your local stealership and speak with them..
/thread (noobs go nuts and start posting everywhere, when they have already been spoon fed the answer...)

Whether or not there is a TSB in Canada for you or not makes no differance.

It's a matter of your engine burning oil and being a POS (like mine). Since you're still under warranty, have oil consumption testing done. If you can prove to them you're burning over 1 quart per 1,000 miles make them fix it.

If they don't fix it sue them.
