350z auto trans jupping rpms

I have an 04 305z with an auto trans if i get on it had sometimes it jumps like 500rpms then drops and pulls
is that tran slip or what

The motor turns but the rear wheels do not? Yes that is a automatic transmission problem.

Sounds like your torque converter is slipping.

When u stand on the throttle in the that RPM ranges those automatics have a slight flare that is normal. we see it on the dyno all the time. Best to check ur fluid and everything just to be safe . The flare should only be a couple hundred rpms not like 1000... just to be clear
