Default Transmission Question.

So my dad and I finally took apart my transmission to check for that clicking noise that i hear anytime I shift. We found the noise, it's coming from the Synchro's. It's not only coming from one of them, but all. So my question is.....Are the synchro's supposed to have any kind of play on them? They seem kinda of loose. If you look at the closeup pic below, the gold ring moves back and forth making a clicking noise. It seems kind of odd that Nissan would make it like that. Any information on this would be helpful. Thanks.

P.S. Alldata also showed that there was a factory recall for the slave cylinder as well, but that has nothing to do with it, just figured I'd mention it. Btw, it's a 2008 Base Model Z.
