Default Car just dies...please help

Hello,

I've taken off my front bumper and sold it to a member, so i'm bumperless at the moment. I drove to Autozone to get my battery checked out because it was drained and the guy said my alternator was good and my battery was charging well. Drove to discount tire to pick up some gorilla lug nuts and as I was coming toward the stop light with my foot on the brake my car DIES. All of my lights come on and I have to crank it back up.

This has happened twice and it's extremely dangerous. It seems to only happen when I am slowing down.

Could someone please give me some insight?

Thanks,
Vang

Hmmm, heat soak perhaps? I have a mishimoto intake with the heat shield, but as I stated I have no front bumper

take your mishimoto intake off and put the stock one back on and see if that fixes the problem

What do you think this is, Twitter or something lol

Just messing with you man, anyways that seems to be a common problem with short ram intakes. Luckily it's something that is easily solved. Just reset the ecu by removing one of the battery terminals for about a minute or two and that should take care of it.

Also there are a couple of open threads on this topic already

Go to Forged Performance or your dealership and have them raise the idle and this wont happen to you.

do you have any CEL?
if so, you need to pull the code to figure it out, guessing will get you no where.
If you do not have code, I would say that it could be gas or something simple.
no front bumper will not cause this issue especially when slowing down.

It sounds like either your MAF or throttle sensor is acting up, but these are 99% associated with a CEL of some sort.
